Dr. Crowell began working on integrating remote sensing observations of greenhouse gasses with models in 2012 initially through the Active Sensing of Carbon Emissions over Nights, Days, and Seasons (ASCENDS) mission and Orbiting Carbon Observatories. In 2016, Dr. Crowell was named Deputy PI and Project Scientist of the GeoCarb Mission at the University of Oklahoma and served in that role until the present, managing the mission development activities and coordinating between the technical team building the instrument and the science team.
